More About J.B. Harris
J.B. Harris is currently suing Big Tobacco in Florida on behalf of 155 individuals or their families for smoking related illness and death caused by addiction to nicotine. The Florida Supreme Court, in the recent case of Engle v. Liggett, upheld a jury’s findings that for years the tobacco companies fraudulent concealed the dangers of smoking, they conspired to manipulate the level of nicotine to make smoking even more addicting and that cigarettes cause at least 12 types of illness, including lung cancer, and certain medical conditions that lead to death.
J.B has successfully obtained more than $1.9 million from the Engle Trust Fund on behalf of his clients injured by big tobacco and achieved one of the largest punitive damages awards in a Florida arbitration involving consumer fraud. He helped obtain multi-million dollar settlements in plane crashes involving Chalks Ocean Airways and Pinnacle Airlines, and has assisted family members of loved ones killed in plane crashes as far away as Martinique, Brazil and the Bahamas.
Overlooking the azure waters of Biscayne Bay, today J.B. Harris heads a law firm based in the heart of downtown Miami, where he and a team of top-notch associates and support staff work together, using the latest in legal technology, to fight for people who have been seriously injured or killed because of someone else’s negligence, recklessness and intentional wrongdoing.
